Lapiztola: pencil as weapon

Our murals are by Lapiztola — a collective of graphic designers Roberto Vega and Rosario Martinez, architect Yankel Balderas, and artist Liseth Amaya, based in Oaxaca.
Stories painted on every wall

Stories painted on every wall

Each mural carries a specific story — from Hunger Street itself to a tribute for a murdered human rights activist. This is not décor; it's a declaration.

The side building mural honors Bety Cariño, killed while working in Oaxaca's indigenous villages. The original was forcibly removed — so Lapiztola painted it again.
